SHANNON’S WEDDING DAY STORY

TINDER LOVE: Shannon and Ash met on Tinder! Funnily enough, they actually worked 400 meters apart from each other at the time, but they otherwise wouldn’t have met if it weren’t for the dating app! 

THE PROPOSAL: Ash proposed the night before the couple went on holiday with all of their favourite things – red wine, pizza and George (their mini sausage dog!). 

SIMPLE & STYLISH: This loved up couple had an intimate wedding with 95 of their nearest and dearest in attendance at Mon Bijou. Their theme was ‘simplicity’ with Shannon opting for simple white and green bouquets for herself and her bridesmaids. The couple and guests were even able to watch the Fireworks display that were taking place nearby for the Moomba celebrations. 

Shannon says the best part of the day was arriving at the alter and seeing Ash. It was in this moment, all her nerves went away. Her second favourite part was that George (their mini sausage dog) was allowed to walk down the aisle with their rings and stay for the ceremony and photos! 

BRIDE’S DRESS:  Shannon found her dress 3.5 weeks before the wedding! It was Sarah Joseph Couture – as Shannon describes it, ‘a little untraditional with a bone colour underlay, with white lace over the top and whimsical sleeves that were detachable towards the end of the night!’  

BRIDES ADVICE: “Don’t stress the small stuff and try and be present! I remember spending hours doing the playlist for guest arrival for the time in between the ceremony and reception and looking back, I don’t think it would have made a difference to our day. What mattered most was trying to enjoy each special moment of the day and each conversation with people. That’s what was most special!”

“I chose Bridesmaid Dressing Room as they were a stockist of Shona Joy and Aneta had a great selection. As soon as I met Aneta, I knew I didn’t need to go anywhere else. She made time to accommodate evening fittings and multiple fittings for different work schedules. She also did the minor alterations for the bridesmaid dresses. The whole process was easy, efficient and enjoyable. Thank you!”
