ROSES are red, violets are blue Cairnlea designer Aneta Pazeski is an award winner too.
Earlier this month her business Bridesmaids Dressing Room won for best wedding supplier in the bridesmaid gown Category at the Victorian Annual Bridal Industry Awards.
“To achieve an award like that was just magnificent considering the growth stage the business is at,” Ms Pazeski said.
But this was not the first prize Ms Pazeski received this year — in January, she participated in the Melbourne Bridal and Honeymoon Expo.
At that event she won best exhibitor in the bridesmaid dresses category and also received overall best exhibit, out of more than 170 entries.
One unique service which Ms Pazeski offers is fittings via Skype, which has allowed her to work with clients as far away as Singapore, Britain and Canada.
“I say to them, ‘All you need is a computer, a measuring tape and someone at the other end to assist you’,” she said.
Ms Pazeski said she left behind a six-figure salary and a career in the corporate world, as a sector director within CPA Australia, to establish her fashion business.
Ms Pazeski said seeing the aftermath of the 2004 tsunami in Phuket while on holiday helped inspire her to make the decision.
“I didn’t want to look back and think, ‘I would’ve, should’ve, could’ve but didn’t’,” she said.
Ms Pazeski said her family’s history even included a talent for making beautiful clothes.
In Macedonia, her great-grandfather was a tailor who travelled from village to village and specialised in making men’s suits.
